The World Cup final – rehearsal for the 2025 World Ski Championships
The World Cup finals began on the first weekend with the giant slalom and slalom for men and women. The super-G and downhill for both genders followed on the second weekend. Due to the fresh snow, the men’s downhill was cancelled on Sunday. Nevertheless, the winners of the overall World Cup rankings were celebrated on the last day, including the dominant Marco Odermatt.
The Austrians centred around Cornelia Hütter had reason to celebrate. She not only secured victory in the downhill on Saturday, but also won her first small crystal globe. Manuel Feller also triumphed in the slalom, meaning two small crystal globes went to the Austrian team.
‘The World Cup final was fantastic! Ski Austria and the organising committee have shown that we can achieve great things. The atmosphere was excellent and the athletes enjoyed the crowd. Conny’s victory on Saturday was definitely an emotional highlight!’ said ÖSV President Roswitha Stadlober.
On the weekends, numerous visitors attended the start number draws in the centre of Hinterglemm. The Ö3 World Cup parties were celebrated in style and a performance by Pinzgau pop singer Julia Buchner attracted many fans.
The organising committee of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Saalbach 2025 gathered valuable impressions for the upcoming major event during the rehearsal from 16 to 24 March.
