What is Haus Jausern?
Haus Jausern is a family-run design hotel in Saalbach, located in the Jausern district right next to the Schönleitenbahn cable car. Here, minimalist design meets warm, personal hospitality and the relaxed way of life of the mountains. A place to retreat for those who travel consciously, appreciate style, and long for peace and nature – at any time of year.
Where is Haus Jausern located?
Haus Jausern is situated on a small hill at the entrance to Saalbach Hinterglemm, directly above the Schönleitenbahn cable car. Despite being close to the ski lift and slopes, you’ll enjoy a peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle. With direct access to the mountain lift, pistes, as well as hiking and biking trails, Haus Jausern is the perfect base for a ski holiday in winter or a hiking and biking holiday in summer.
Is Haus Jausern a wellness hotel?
We don’t describe ourselves as a traditional wellness hotel, but we do offer a small, stylish, and modern spa area with an outdoor pool, saunas, a relaxation room, and a natural swimming pond – perfect for unwinding after an active day in the mountains.

On your departure day, rooms are available until 10:30 AM.
If available, we offer a late check-out in the room until 4:00 PM for an additional €120 per room.
Alternatively, you can use our spa area until 4:00 PM without the room for an extra €36 per person.
Where is the best place to park?

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, your dog is welcome to join you for a fee of €35 per day. We provide a dog station and dog towels, but please remember to bring a bed for your pet.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.
Is there Wi-Fi in the hotel and in the rooms?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and throughout the hotel. Just collect your access code at reception upon arrival.
Are there electric car charging stations?
We have 2 electric car charging stations in our underground garage. For €25 per charge, you can “fully charge” your car. Pick up the charging card at reception, and we’ll explain the rest.
Is Haus Jausern suitable for a family holiday?
Families with children are warmly welcome at our hotel. We ourselves have two children and always enjoy having families stay with us. However, we are not a traditional kids’ hotel with childcare or a playroom. There are, however, countless activities in the region where both young and old can have fun and enjoy an unforgettable holiday, whether in winter or summer.

Is there a room where I can store my ski equipment?
How far is the ski lift?
You’ll probably hardly need your car during your stay, as you can reach the Schönleitenbahn directly from the hotel on skis. The ski buses also stop just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. On the way back to Haus Jausern, you can return directly via the ski slope – it would be a shame to miss the final run!
Where can I buy ski passes?
What activities are available off the slopes?
If you come to us without skis, numerous off‑piste activities await you. Ice skating, cross‑country skiing, guided snowshoe hikes, the fairy-tale forest, treetop adventure trail & Golden Gate Bridge, horse-drawn sleigh rides, winter hiking, paragliding, day and night tobogganing — just to name a few. With the Guest Mobility Ticket, you can use all public transport throughout the state of Salzburg free of charge during your stay, making it easy to take a trip to Salzburg, for example.
Can I rent equipment nearby?
Yes, we work with Sport Hagleitner in Saalbach. You can conveniently rent your equipment at their shop, and Sport Hagleitner will pick it up directly from Haus Jausern. Our guests receive a 10% discount on ski rentals. At the end of your stay, the equipment is collected right at the hotel, so you can hit the slopes completely relaxed.

Is the Joker Card included in the stay?
Yes. We issue the Joker Card conveniently at the hotel, and it’s free for the duration of your stay. The Joker Card gives you free access to up to 8 mountain lifts, as well as the region’s most popular attractions. In addition, you’ll enjoy a 20% discount on bike tickets in Austria’s largest bike regions, the Epic Bikepark Leogang and Fieberbrunn, plus discounts with bonus partners across the Salzburg region.
Daily guided hikes are also offered, ranging from leisurely alpine hut walks to panoramic summit hikes and adventurous sunrise hikes — there’s something for everyone!

What activities do we offer in summer?
We offer weekly, alternating yoga sessions with Alina. Join us for Sunrise or Sundown Yoga in our garden, or try our Breath Work session with Verena. In addition, we offer unforgettable sunrise hikes during the summer.
Every Thursday, we also host Late Night SPA, so you can relax in the saunas and pool until 10:00 PM.
Is there a room where I can store my bike?
Your bike and equipment are safely stored in our video-monitored, locked bike cellar. Additionally, you have access to a heated and ventilated locker, so everything can dry overnight and you’re ready to ride fresh the next day.
Do you offer guided hikes?
With the Joker Card, you can join daily guided hikes free of charge. From leisurely alpine hut walks to challenging summit tours, there’s something for everyone. Certified local guides will lead you through the mountains of Saalbach. Please note that, for safety reasons, dogs are not allowed on guided tours.

Is there a fitness room?
In our fitness room, you’ll find resistance bands, foam rollers, One Mantra yoga mats and blocks, weights, and more — everything you need for a workout after an eventful day.

On the first floor of the SPA area is our Panorama Relaxation Room. Here, you can unwind with a cup of tea and a good book while enjoying a 360° view of the mountains. This relaxation room is an adults-only area.

Are there vegan or vegetarian options?
Is there a bar in the hotel?
Yes, our hotel bar is open all day. If you get a little hungry during the day, the small afternoon bar menu has you covered.
On our terrace by the fire pits, you can end the evening with a cool cocktail in summer or a mulled wine in winter.
Are there barbecue evenings in summer?
Absolutely! In summer, we fire up our grill once a week for you. Depending on the weather, you can enjoy your barbecue outdoors in the garden or in one of our cozy lounges.

Starting June 2025, a very special experience awaits you at Haus Jausern: the Chef’s Table with Head Chef Stefan Lechleitner and Chef Lilly. From Thursday to Saturday, you can book this exclusive experience as an add-on and enjoy an evening of exceptional cuisine.
Look forward to the 7-course menu “Roots and Routes”, which reinterprets traditional dishes in a contemporary way and surprises with creative touches. Is there a laundry service?
For a fee of €25, we will wash and dry your laundry. Ironing service is charged based on the type and number of items.
Do you offer allergy-friendly bedding?
Yes, we offer allergy-friendly bedding so you can fully enjoy your stay. Please let us know in advance.
Can I charge my electric car at the hotel?
Yes, for a fee of €25, you can charge your electric car in our underground garage.
Are bathrobes and slippers available at the hotel?
Bathrobes are provided in the bathroom bag in your room for the duration of your stay. For sustainability reasons, we do not provide disposable slippers, so remember to bring your favourite pair! If you happen to forget, we have a few spares available at reception.
What baby equipment is available at the hotel?
We’re happy to provide everything you need for a stress-free stay with little ones. Upon request, we offer a baby cot, play mat, Tripp Trapp high chair, kettle, baby bath, diaper bin, and changing mat — not to mention our Moonboon cradle, ready for our tiniest guests!
For outdoor adventures with your child, we can provide a buggy, carrier, or outdoor blanket. Just let us know what you need and save yourself the hassle of extra luggage. You can also borrow side-sleeper or nursing pillows at any time.
Please note: sometimes many little guests stay at the same time, so not all baby equipment may always be available.
Is there a shuttle service from the hotel?
Yes, we offer a free shuttle service on arrival and departure from Zell am See and Maishofen–Saalbach train stations.

Haus Jausern is a family-run 4-star boutique hotel with just 31 rooms. It combines a ski-in/ski-out location, ski hire & ski school nearby, as well as a pool and excellent food.

What is included in the price?
All our rates include an overnight stay with a varied breakfast and access to the spa. WLAN is available free of charge throughout the hotel. Free parking is available for your car directly in front of the hotel or in the underground car park.
With half board or special deals, we serve a lovingly prepared 4-course gourmet menu every day. In summer there is also a relaxed BBQ evening every week.
In summer, you also receive the Saalbach Joker Card for many free and discounted activities. Our personalised service ensures that you feel completely at ease during your entire stay.
Are children welcome? Are there family rooms?
Children are very welcome here! We offer various cosy family rooms where you can spend a relaxing time together. Although we are not purely a children’s hotel and therefore do not offer childcare or a special playroom, family time together is at the centre of everything we do. We are happy to provide baby equipment for the little ones so that everyone feels completely at ease.
How far in advance do I need to book?
The earlier, the better!
The earlier you book, the more attractive the price and selection. We also have last-minute rates and occasional lightning deals for last-minute bookings. However, these only apply to certain room categories and limited capacities. So if you wait too long, your favourite room may already be taken

Can I eat in the restaurant without half board?
Yes, you can eat in our restaurant if you book in advance, even if you have only booked breakfast. We serve a 4-course gourmet menu with vegetarian options.
Are there special menus for children?
For children, we offer different dishes every day that children love 😉 Of course, the little ones can also choose directly from the evening menu.
Can I take packed lunches with me
Our breakfast buffet is not intended as a self-service snack station – but you will of course still be well catered for on the go.
We are happy to put together a packed lunch for you on request for a small extra charge – perfect for your hiking day, ski trip or onward journey. Alternatively, there are numerous rustic huts and mountain pastures in the surrounding area where you can stop for a bite to eat.
If you leave early and don’t have time for breakfast, we will of course prepare a packed lunch for you on the way free of charge. Just let us know in good time.
Can I also eat in the restaurant as an external guest?
Yes, with pleasure. But please book in good time.
Does the restaurant pay attention to regional and seasonal products?
Yes – we attach great importance to quality, regionality and seasonality. Many of our ingredients come from local producers and our cuisine is creative, honest and deliberately minimalist. You can taste that!
Are there menus for special occasions?
Yes – special moments deserve special moments of pleasure. For festive occasions, romantic evenings or simply an extraordinary treat, we offer our Chef’s Table at Haus Jausern from Thursday to Sunday: A culinary experience, in convivial company, with Lilly and head chef Stefan Lechleitner. An 8-course gourmet menu is served under the name ‘Roots and Paths’. This is where creative, down-to-earth cuisine meets genuine hospitality – individual, minimalist, surprising.
Just let us know what you would like to celebrate – we will organise the perfect culinary setting. If you book half board, you will receive a 30% discount on the Chef’s Table.
Wellness and SPA
Are there relaxation rooms or adults-only times in the wellness area?
Our relaxation room is reserved exclusively for adults.
The saunas are also adults-only until 15:00 and from 17:00.
Children are welcome in the pool area all day and in the sauna, accompanied by adults, from 15:00 to 17:00.
Are there massages and SPA treatments?
We offer classic massages and sports massages. Our therapist, Marco, will pamper you after a day on the slopes or a hike. Appointments can be conveniently booked at our reception.
Is there a fitness area or yoga room for free use?
Our exercise room is available to you every day for free use. Therabands, fascia rollers, wall bars, weights and yoga mats are at your disposal. We do not have any classic fitness equipment.
We ask you not to take the equipment to your room. If you would like to borrow something, please let reception know.
Can I shower on the day of departure after a day of skiing or hiking?
We are happy to provide you with a private bathroom with shower and towels.
You can use this service for €18 per person.
If you would also like to use the spa area, this is possible for an extra charge of €36 per person.
Winter activities
Is there a hire service for snowshoes, ski and snowboard equipment and toboggans?
Yes, there are numerous shops and hire shops in Saalbach that offer ski and snowboard equipment. Our partner shop Sport Hagleitner offers the special service of collecting our guests directly from the hotel. The equipment is collected from us again at the end of your stay.
Toboggans can be hired directly at the Reiterkogel. Snowshoes and ski touring equipment can also be hired in the village.
Are there ski schools in the neighbourhood?
The ‘Sport Heugenhauser’ ski school is located right next to the Schönleiten cable car. This ski school offers group courses for beginners and advanced skiers as well as private lessons.
We can also book ski guides and private ski instructors for you on request.
Are there activities off the slopes for non-skiers?
Whether on our 140 km of winter hiking trails, the cross-country ski trail at the end of the valley or tobogganing: The range of sporting activities in the snow and in the fresh air in Saalbach Hinterglemm leaves nothing to be desired. Whether leisurely or challenging, with snowshoes or ice skates, with the mountain railway or on foot: there is plenty to discover!
Is there a toboggan run nearby?
Saalbach Hinterglemm has two great toboggan runs for winter fans of all ages:
Reiterkogel toboggan run (Hinterglemm)
– Approx. 3.2 km long toboggan run
– Easy ascent with the Reiterkogelbahn cable car
– Evening tobogganing on certain days with floodlights
– Only permitted with the toboggans available for hire on site
Spielberghaus toboggan run (Saalbach)
– Natural toboggan run, approx. 3 km long
– Ascent with the snow groomer shuttle
– Stop off at the Spielberghaus
– Toboggan hire directly on site, booking recommended
What activities are offered at the hotel?
We offer a variety of in-house activities throughout the year. You can always find the current program on the info board in the lobby and in the digital guest directory.
Look forward to guided ice bathing with Coach Alina, Sunrise and Sundown Yoga, aqua gym with Marco, or breathwork sessions with Verena.
What is on offer at Christmas?
Christmas at Haus Jausern is a very special time – traditional, informal and wonderfully stress-free. We celebrate honestly and genuinely – with a lot of heart and without kitsch.
We decorate the Christmas tree together, we burn incense in the rooms according to old tradition and the sounds of real wind instruments accompany Christmas Eve. There is also live music, a festive gala dinner and a lovingly prepared Christmas breakfast the next morning.
Everything is possible, nothing is a must – our focus is on well-being. Christmas the way it feels: relaxed, atmospheric and soothingly quiet.
