What is the Haus Jausern?
Haus Jausern is a family-run design hotel in Saalbach Jausern, right next to the Schönleiten cable car. Here, minimalist design and personal hospitality meet the relaxed lifestyle of the mountains. A retreat for all those who travel consciously, appreciate style and long for peace and nature – at any time of year.
Where is Haus Jausern located?
Our hotel is situated on a small hill at the entrance to Saalbach-Hinterglemm. This location not only offers a fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, but also a peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle – and in close proximity to the cable cars, hiking trails and ski slopes.
Is Haus Jausern a wellness hotel?
We do not classically describe ourselves as a wellness hotel, but we do offer a small, fine & modern spa area with outdoor pool, saunas, relaxation room and natural bathing pond – perfect for relaxing after an active day in the mountains.

When can I check in?
The rooms are always ready for you from 15:00. If you can foresee that your journey will be delayed and you are not expected to arrive until after 19:00, please let us know by calling +43 6541 7341.
When do I have to check out by?
The rooms are available until 10.30 am. Late check-out in the room until 4.00 pm is also possible for a surcharge of € 120 per room (subject to availability) or without a room (use of the SPA until 4.00 pm) for a surcharge of € 36 per person.
Where is the best place to park?
All guests of the hotel can park free of charge directly in front of the hotel or in the underground car park.
You can charge your electric car in our underground car park for €18.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, your dog can come with you for a fee of €35 per day. We provide a dog station and dog towels. Please remember to bring a basket for your dog.
Is smoking allowed in the hotel?
We consider ourselves a non-smoking hotel. However, all balconies are of course equipped with ashtrays.
Is there Wi-Fi in the hotel and in the rooms?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and in the entire hotel area.

Is there a room where I can store my ski equipment?
Skis and snowboards can be stored safely in our video-monitored ski room. Ski safes and boot dryers ensure that your feet are always warm.
How far away is the ski lift?
You will probably hardly need your car during your holiday with us, as you can reach the Schönleitenbahn directly from the hotel on skis. The ski buses also stop just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. You can return to Haus Jausern directly via the ski slope. It would be a shame to miss the last run.
Where can I buy ski passes?
Here at the hotel. The Ski ALPIN CARD ticket network covers the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun glacier ski area. 408 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes, up to 121 state-of-the-art lifts and a supra-regional 365-day alpine offer.

Is the Joker Card included in the stay?
Yes. We conveniently issue the Joker Card for you directly in the house. It is free of charge for the duration of your stay. The Joker Card gives you free access to up to 8 cable cars as well as entry to the most popular attractions in the region. In addition, you enjoy a 20% discount on bike tickets for Austria’s largest bike region in the Epic Bikepark Leogang and in Fieberbrunn, as well as further discounts with bonus partners throughout the Salzburger Land.
Free guided hikes are offered daily. From leisurely hut walks and scenic summit tours to unforgettable sunrise hikes – there’s something for everyone!

What activities do we offer in summer?
Every week we offer alternating yoga sessions with Alina. Join us for sunrise or sundown yoga in our garden, or try our breathwork session with Verena. We also offer unforgettable sunrise hikes during the summer.
Every Thursday we host our Late Night SPA – relax in our saunas and pool until 10:00 pm.
Is there a room where I can store my bike?
Your bike and equipment are safely stored with us – in our video-monitored, locked bike cellar. You also have access to a heated and ventilated locker so everything can dry overnight, ensuring you’re fully ready for the next day.

Is there a fitness room?
Yes, in our exercise room you will find therabands, fascia rolls, One Mantra yoga mats and blocks, as well as weights and more for your workout after an eventful day.
Is there a pool?
Haus Jausern has a heated outdoor pool and a natural pond for cooling off after the sauna. Children are welcome to use the pool, but we assume that parents will ensure that they are supervised and use the pool in a considerate manner.
Are my children allowed in the sauna?
Children are allowed to come to the sauna with their parents from 15:00 to 17:00. We ask for your understanding that outside these times, the sauna area is reserved for adults.
Our relaxation room is a place to relax and unwind. We therefore ask for your understanding that this area is reserved exclusively for adults.

If you have booked your stay with half board or as part of a package, your stay includes not only a delicious breakfast but also a four-course dinner.
Can allergies and intolerances be taken into consideration?
Yes, of course. To ensure we are fully prepared, please inform us of any allergies or intolerances in advance.
Are there vegan/vegetarian options?
There’s something for everyone! We offer vegetarian alternatives on the dinner menu every day, as well as vegan products on the breakfast buffet. We are also happy to prepare a vegan dinner menu for you with prior notice.
Is there a bar in the hotel?
Yes. Our hotel bar is open all day. If you get a little peckish during the day, our small afternoon bar menu will help.
At our fire pits on the terrace you can round off the evening with a refreshing cocktail in summer or a mulled wine in winter.
Do we offer barbecue evenings in summer?
Absolutely. We regularly fire up the grill for you during the summer months. Depending on the weather, you can enjoy your barbecue outdoors in the garden or in one of our cosy dining rooms.

From June 2025, a very special experience awaits you at Haus Jausern: the Chef’s Table with Head Chef Stefan Lechleitner and Chef Lilly. From Thursday to Saturday, you can book this exclusive experience as an add-on and indulge in an evening of exceptional cuisine.
Look forward to the 7-course menu “Roots and Routes”, which reinterprets traditional dishes in a contemporary way and surprises with creative touches. Is there a laundry service?
For a fee of 25 € we wash and dry your clothes. Ironing service is charged according to the type and number of clothes.
Do you offer allergy friendly bedding?
Yes, we offer bed linen for allergy sufferers, so that you can fully enjoy your stay. Please let us know in advance without any complications.
Can I charge my e-car at your place?
Yes, for a fee of 18 € you can charge your e-car in our underground car park.
Are bathrobes and slippers available in the hotel?
Bathrobes are available in the rooms. We have consciously decided against disposable bath slippers for sustainability reasons. So remember to pack your best slippers with you! In case you forget them, we have a few in reserve at the reception.
Are there baby cribs in the hotel?
We are happy to provide you with everything you need for a stress-free stay with your offspring. On request, we can provide you with a baby crib, crawling blanket, Tripp Trapp high chair, kettle, baby bath, diaper pail and changing mat, not forgetting our Moonboon cradle, which is ready and waiting for our youngest guests! For your outdoor experience with your offspring, we will gladly provide you with a stroller, carrier or outdoor blanket. Just let us know what you need and save yourself the hassle of luggage! You can also borrow a side sleeper or nursing pillow at any time.

How many stars does Haus Jausern have?
Haus Jausern is a family-run 4-star boutique hotel with just 31 rooms. It combines a ski-in/ski-out location, ski hire & ski school nearby, as well as a pool and excellent food.

Are there any early booking specials or other packages that can be booked?
Yes, on our offers page you will also find attractive packages and early bird deals in addition to our standard rates.
Whether for a spontaneous short holiday with our express break, unforgettable moments during a mountain summer break, an energetic weekend at Rave on Snow, relaxed Christmas days or active ski holidays with the family – we have the right thing for everyone.

What is included in the price?
All our rates include an overnight stay with a varied breakfast and access to the spa. WLAN is available free of charge throughout the hotel. Free parking is available for your car directly in front of the hotel or in the underground car park.
With half board or special deals, we serve a lovingly prepared 4-course gourmet menu every day. In summer there is also a relaxed BBQ evening every week.
In summer, you also receive the Saalbach Joker Card for many free and discounted activities. Our personalised service ensures that you feel completely at ease during your entire stay.
Are children welcome? Are there family rooms?
Children are very welcome here! We offer various cosy family rooms where you can spend a relaxing time together. Although we are not purely a children’s hotel and therefore do not offer childcare or a special playroom, family time together is at the centre of everything we do. We are happy to provide baby equipment for the little ones so that everyone feels completely at ease.
How far in advance do I need to book?
The earlier, the better!
The earlier you book, the more attractive the price and selection. We also have last-minute rates and occasional lightning deals for last-minute bookings. However, these only apply to certain room categories and limited capacities. So if you wait too long, your favourite room may already be taken
Food & Drinks
Can I eat in the restaurant without half board?
Yes, you can eat in our restaurant if you book in advance, even if you have only booked breakfast. We serve a 4-course gourmet menu with vegetarian options.
Are there special menus for children?
For children, we offer different dishes every day that children love 😉 Of course, the little ones can also choose directly from the evening menu.
Can I take packed lunches with me
Our breakfast buffet is not intended as a self-service snack station – but you will of course still be well catered for on the go.
We are happy to put together a packed lunch for you on request for a small extra charge – perfect for your hiking day, ski trip or onward journey. Alternatively, there are numerous rustic huts and mountain pastures in the surrounding area where you can stop for a bite to eat.
If you leave early and don’t have time for breakfast, we will of course prepare a packed lunch for you on the way free of charge. Just let us know in good time.
Can I also eat in the restaurant as an external guest?
Yes, with pleasure. But please book in good time.
Does the restaurant pay attention to regional and seasonal products?
Yes – we attach great importance to quality, regionality and seasonality. Many of our ingredients come from local producers and our cuisine is creative, honest and deliberately minimalist. You can taste that!
Are there menus for special occasions?
Yes – special moments deserve special moments of pleasure. For festive occasions, romantic evenings or simply an extraordinary treat, we offer our Chef’s Table at Haus Jausern from Thursday to Sunday: A culinary experience, in convivial company, with Lilly and head chef Stefan Lechleitner. An 8-course gourmet menu is served under the name ‘Roots and Paths’. This is where creative, down-to-earth cuisine meets genuine hospitality – individual, minimalist, surprising.
Just let us know what you would like to celebrate – we will organise the perfect culinary setting. If you book half board, you will receive a 30% discount on the Chef’s Table.
Wellness and SPA
Are there relaxation rooms or adults-only times in the wellness area?
Our relaxation room is reserved exclusively for adults.
The saunas are also adults-only until 15:00 and from 17:00.
Children are welcome in the pool area all day and in the sauna, accompanied by adults, from 15:00 to 17:00.
Are there massages and SPA treatments?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer massages or treatments at the moment.
Is there a fitness area or yoga room for free use?
Our exercise room is available to you every day for free use. Therabands, fascia rollers, wall bars, weights and yoga mats are at your disposal. We do not have any classic fitness equipment.
We ask you not to take the equipment to your room. If you would like to borrow something, please let reception know.
Can I shower on the day of departure after a day of skiing or hiking?
We are happy to provide you with a private bathroom with shower and towels.
You can use this service for €18 per person.
If you would also like to use the spa area, this is possible for an extra charge of €36 per person.
Winter activities
Is there a hire service for snowshoes, ski and snowboard equipment and toboggans?
Yes, there are numerous shops and hire shops in Saalbach that offer ski and snowboard equipment. Our partner shop Sport Hagleitner offers the special service of collecting our guests directly from the hotel. The equipment is collected from us again at the end of your stay.
Toboggans can be hired directly at the Reiterkogel. Snowshoes and ski touring equipment can also be hired in the village.
Are there ski schools in the neighbourhood?
The ‘Sport Heugenhauser’ ski school is located right next to the Schönleiten cable car. This ski school offers group courses for beginners and advanced skiers as well as private lessons.
We can also book ski guides and private ski instructors for you on request.
Are there activities off the slopes for non-skiers?
Whether on our 140 km of winter hiking trails, the cross-country ski trail at the end of the valley or tobogganing: The range of sporting activities in the snow and in the fresh air in Saalbach Hinterglemm leaves nothing to be desired. Whether leisurely or challenging, with snowshoes or ice skates, with the mountain railway or on foot: there is plenty to discover!
Is there a toboggan run nearby?
Saalbach Hinterglemm has two great toboggan runs for winter fans of all ages:
Reiterkogel toboggan run (Hinterglemm)
– Approx. 3.2 km long toboggan run
– Easy ascent with the Reiterkogelbahn cable car
– Evening tobogganing on certain days with floodlights
– Only permitted with the toboggans available for hire on site
Spielberghaus toboggan run (Saalbach)
– Natural toboggan run, approx. 3 km long
– Ascent with the snow groomer shuttle
– Stop off at the Spielberghaus
– Toboggan hire directly on site, booking recommended
What is on offer at Christmas?
Christmas at Haus Jausern is a very special time – traditional, informal and wonderfully stress-free. We celebrate honestly and genuinely – with a lot of heart and without kitsch.
We decorate the Christmas tree together, we burn incense in the rooms according to old tradition and the sounds of real wind instruments accompany Christmas Eve. There is also live music, a festive gala dinner and a lovingly prepared Christmas breakfast the next morning.
Everything is possible, nothing is a must – our focus is on well-being. Christmas the way it feels: relaxed, atmospheric and soothingly quiet.
